The source of the petroleum fuel leak into Toronto's Don River has been confirmed by the city of Toronto officials. The owner of the property, Akelius, has been given 24 hours to take action to prevent further contamination into the waterway. Sean O'Shea reports.
Akelius has owned the property since June 30, 2014, and should've been monitoring it in case something like this should happen. As usual, no one at Akelius Canada Ltd. knows what's going on. How much was Akelius Canada Ltd. fined for their neglect? Now they want to build a thirty-two story apartment building on the same site. May 27, 2019, a meeting is scheduled with the OMB to discuss the matter of constructing the building and guarantees this will not happen again.
